Network Programmer

Studio Roqovan | Los Angeles (Greater Los Angeles Area)

 

Job Description

Studio Roqovan is seeking an exceptional Network Programmer to join our team. The right candidate will have experience developing advanced networking solutions for large scale games, and come with a positive attitude, a passion for games, and ability to communicate with people as effectively as you do a computer.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement online systems supporting multiplayer gameplay, customization, and purchases
  • Organize data flow to allow for prediction and synchronization as needed
  • Identify and solve development obstacles or risks that arise
  • Optimize code and data for memory usage and performance for both server and client
  • Collaborate with other developers so that systems work together and as intended

 

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in C++
  • 3+ Years professional game development experience
  • Shipped at least one game title
  • Technical game development in Unreal Engine 4
  • Experience with Client/Server architecture and Unreal Engine 4 replication
  • Able to adhere to internal coding standards
  • Multi-platform experience on PC and console
  • Strong debugging and problem solving skills
  • Structures and writes readable code and comments
  • Strives to meet deadlines while able to assess feasible tasks

Senior Technical Designer

Studio Roqovan | Los Angeles (Greater Los Angeles Area)

Job Description

Studio Roqovan is seeking a sharp, creative Senior Designer to create awesome gameplay experiences in a collaborative, agile environment.

Experience:

· 3+ years of experience as a designer / scripter shipping at least one game or substantial modding work.
· Experience working with a 3D game engine to create, design and implement compelling gameplay.
· Extensive knowledge of game balancing, multiplayer design, and player choice.

Skills:

· Preferred experience with Unreal Engine 4
· Preferred experience with VR
· Experience coding in an Object Orient Language ( C, C++, C#, Java, … etc )
· Strong verbal and written skills with ability to ‘sell the room’ on game design proposals and initiatives.
· Proactive team player able to recognize the importance of collaborative efforts.
· Offer advice and suggestions for improving the game and development processes.
· Unbridled passion for all types of games with a distinct ability to break down and articulate what does and doesn’t work in game design and execution.
· Accustomed to rapid iteration.

Senior Unreal Programmer

Studio Roqovan | Los Angeles (Greater Los Angeles Area)

Job Description

Studio Roqovan is seeking an exceptional, experienced programmer to join our core World War Toons team. As a small team for an independent studio, we’re looking for skilled teammates to join our highly collaborative environment to get the most out of Unreal Engine 4 and help others do the same. Passion for technology and games, advanced problem-solving skills, and in-depth familiarity with first person shooters is a plus.

Responsibilities:

· Cooperate with artists, designers and other coders on how to best utilize the current technology.
· Perform research to acquire new knowledge necessary to perform tasks and continue the technological evolution of the game.
· Create or improve tools as necessary to support specific features/systems.
· Develop high-performance and easy-to-use systems for rendering, and other subsystems.
· Diagnose game performance and stability issues and develop solutions.
· Accurately estimate schedules and deliver high quality work products to that schedule.
· Mentor junior programmers – there’s plenty to do, you shouldn’t be doing it all yourself.

Qualifications:

· 6+ Years of Professional Game Development experience
· 3+ Years of Unreal Engine 3 or Unreal Engine 4 experience
· 2+ Shipped Titles. At least one shipped title with Unreal
· Console or Mobile development experience is a plus
· Strong 3D Math understanding and application
· 18 years of age or older
· High School diploma or equivalent

QA Tester/Analyst
Studio Roqovan | Los Angeles (Greater Los Angeles Area)

Roqovan is seeking a motivated QA Tester to perform day to day analysis of games throughout the development cycle in accordance with test plans, procedures, and test cases.

Responsibilities:

· Find and log defects with clear and concise description and reproduction steps.
· Interface with development on an as needed basis.
· Perform testing from scripted test cases and as directed by project lead.
· Review product documentation for accuracy, clarity, consistency, completeness, and compliance.
· Assist in maintaining test environments.
· Analyze and review discrepancies resulting from executed test.
· Perform extensive system, functional, and regression testing.
· Make recommendations to improve product reliability and performance, as well as the best practices for the quality assurance process.

Qualifications:

· 18 years of age or older.
· High School diploma or equivalent.
· Ability to follow directions, remain focused, and communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
· Familiarity with Windows operating systems and gaming consoles.
· Must be able to perform testing on games and other software to verify proper function, data content, performance, usability/playability, and hardware/software compatibility.
· Excellent organization, time management, and analytical skills.
· Must be able to learn, comprehend, and apply new concepts, techniques, and procedures quickly.· Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Experience and familiarity with First Person Shooters and other genres.
· Must be able to work from 10:00am to 7:00pm during the regular work week with the flexibility to change and work on a different shift, overtime and weekends as needed.
· 1 year QA Experience preferred, but not required.
